In light of recent news events both provincially and nationally I could not let this go by without commenting.....
News stories, Facebook pages, emails....all about bullying and its devastating effects. But will it matter? Does it make a difference?
How about too little too late, in my humble opinion! Lives are lost, self esteem void, dreams shattered......all that is l...

When I become a mother for the first time I was filled with an extreme sense of fulfilment but also terror. I think I realized, on some subconscious level, that emotionally I wasn't going to be able to keep up my charade. But I tried, and tried and tried. Some days succeeding and some not so much.
I had two beautiful, healthy children 22 months apart. And I knew from the moment I gave birth to Rhiana that I was meant to be a...

So Mother's Day is Sunday and once again I am nowhere near my own Mother.
In fact, I am not sure if I can remember the last time I was with her on this special sunday. I do recall her visiting myself and Rhiana, who was one at the time, in Appleton....so that was back in 2006 when I was pregnant wth Colton. She had gotten a ride as far as Terra Nova with my sister and Rhiana an...

I think that asking if I had "work done" was probably the strangest, most backwards, yet flattering comment that I received on any of my pictures from the day of the competition.
But I decided to post this picture to show you a little something that you can not always see in the pics on the internet or in magazines....but more often than not, it is there.
I was blessed to have had two incredibly healthy pregnancies and babies and although I did survive with...

What would the holidays be without a misty-eyed mommy moment?

The sheer excitement in the eyes of my children this past week has brought out a little of the child in me I think. Oh the holiday season has begun!!
Since the show, I have been working on getting back into my routine and so far it hasn't been too bad but add in the ever increasing number of Christmas programs and parties and things start to get a little hairy.
Workouts: I have changed up my routine slightly and am doing a 2 days on one day off lifting routine with some metabolic work (about 20 mins) on my off days, with one day (normally sundays) completely off.. This...

The sun has gone down on yet another summer, as short as it was. It does seem that the older I get, the faster it goes. This birthday, last weekend, brought with it a whole gammet of emotions. I was blessed to spend the weekend visiting with a friend and celebrating her wedding. It was probably the nicest wedding I have ever attended and had the honor of being a part of. I ate some amazing food (too much of it) and met some even more amazing people! We ...

I think that every Mom I know feels like this, whether she works outside the home or not, it is always a struggle to find balance. But I digress....
Yesterday I had the incredible opportunity to attend a function with the Career Development Class at the local high school. I guidance counsellor, who is one of my bootcampers, kindly asked me to come along to the luncheon which had a "speed dating" format where the students rotated...

I have been truly blessed to have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom (SAHM) and be with my children for the first few years of their lives. It is an honour to get to spend my days with them and teach and shape and mould them into the little people that they are becoming, but....there is a darker side to staying at home that many moms don't like to talk about.
Come on, you all know what I am talking about....the sweats, the ponytails and bal...
